Does anyone happen to know what type of carp NHS’s mascot is exactly? I tried doing a google search for carp so I could get some drawing references, and quite a few types came up in the search. I can’t really figure out which type is the best match since the mascot is pretty cartoony compared to real life fish.

Help???

small pointless story:

When I was 11 years old I was given a TV for my birthday.
That amazing gift of completely unsupervised media helped me become who I am today.
It allowed me to kill myself staying up to 10pm to watch Beavis and Butthead and the rest of what used to be MTV Europe before it was dissolved.
Because of that Beavis and Butthead will always represent a very important time in my life where I suddenly became independently able to choose what I put in my brain.
As I got older (14) Darias spinoff came into existance and let me tell you I never related to a cartoon so much in my life (excluding Pepperann who I still identify with painfully and embarasingly)

After Daria came to an end I went on with my life and while remembering that I liked those shows a LOT I never rewatched them. Daria was never released (at the time) on DVD due to music copyright issues so I wrote it off as a memory.

Eventually at the age of 24 (i think?) I moved to Japan. I lived in a very small village, very japanese, no english, quite alienated, lonely etc, and after not finding quite enough solace some King of the Hill dvds I found, I was reminded to go download beavis and butthead and afterwards moved on to daria.
Those two shows are so different from eachother and both so great in so many ways. I identified all over again with beavis and buttheads perceived stupidity even though they try their best, and darias complete self and otherwise inflicted alienation, struggles with friendship, family.
It was an amazing thing to take two shows you watched when you were at one point in your life and watch them again as the person you became. Never forget when you work in animation the life-long impact you can have on someone without ever expecting to.

i love that it took tumblr for me to find out irish people don’t have a culture because we’re light skinned.  I also found out that due to being that way we never enslaved, abused, and killed. 800 years of good times all ‘round!

True story; this officer (John Pike) got a settlement of $38,000 because he said he got depressed after pepper spraying these kids. Oh, the depression wasn’t for feeling remorseful for pepper spraying a bunch of college kids peacefully protesting. He got depressed because he said since the media kept playing the video of him pepper spraying peaceful kids without cause, he got threats and didn’t feel safe. He didn’t feel safe. I’m not making that up. This motherfucker collected nearly 40 grand on worker’s comp after assaulting a bunch of college kids.
